KSD Nanum Foundation of Korea Securities Depository Donates Wheelchairs for Children with Disabilities to Korea Disabled Development Institute
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] On the 23rd, the Korea Securities Depository KSD Nanum Foundation held a wheelchair delivery ceremony for children with severe disabilities in collaboration with the Korea Disabled Development Institute at its Seoul headquarters, the foundation announced on the 24th.
The wheelchair support project for children with disabilities began in 2012. Including 63 units this year, a total of 383 wheelchairs have been provided so far.
The wheelchairs for children with disabilities are equipped with safety devices that support the bodies of children with severe disabilities who have difficulty maintaining proper posture due to severe spinal deformities, and the angle of the backrest and footrest can be adjusted. Through this support, the KSD Nanum Foundation expects that the daily lives of children with severe disabilities and their families, who had difficulties using regular wheelchairs, will become somewhat easier.
