CJ Conducts 'Kimjang Sharing' at 2,000 Regional Children's Centers Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] CJ is launching a "Kimchi Sharing" campaign to ease the winter food worries of underprivileged neighbors during the year-end and New Year season.
CJ's social contribution foundation, CJ Nanum Foundation, announced on the 24th that it will deliver a total of 110 tons of kimchi to 2,000 regional children's centers nationwide, as well as about 60 elderly welfare facilities and facilities for the disabled by the end of the year.
The donated 110 tons of kimchi is enough for 3,000 households (based on a family of four) to eat during the winter (about three months). Since 2007, CJ has delivered kimchi made by its employees through year-end kimchi-making volunteer activities to underprivileged neighbors every year. This year, considering the COVID-19 situation and social distancing, 40 kg of kimchi will be delivered to each institution.
Since its establishment in 2005, CJ Nanum Foundation has been carrying out child and youth education support projects through the online sharing platform CJ Donors Camp, and shares hope through various donations and social services such as food support projects including kimchi. For this "Kimchi Sharing," prior applications were received from regional children's centers nationwide, and CJ's major affiliates also plan to carry out "Kimchi Sharing" targeting local communities together.
