Gyeonggi-do Launches Effort to Identify Vulnerable Households in Welfare Blind Spots
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province is launching an initiative to identify households in crisis within the province.
On the 24th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will operate a "Winter Welfare Blind Spot Intensive Discovery" period until February next year, utilizing big data technology and other methods.
To this end, the province has established the "Winter Welfare Blind Spot Discovery and Support Plan," which is based on the following key directions: ▲ discovering households in crisis using big data ▲ utilizing human safety nets such as honorary social welfare officers for discovery ▲ proactively providing information on available services through welfare membership.
According to this plan, the province will form a joint consultative body (TF) among related departments to comprehensively promote support for stable living during winter, protection of vulnerable groups against cold waves, and customized support for crisis situations faced by vulnerable groups.
