Kim San, Muan County Governor, Joins Relay Challenge for Everyday Energy Saving

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Kim San, the governor of Muan County, participated in the "Cool and Warm Water Dispenser OFF Environmental Challenge" for practicing energy saving in daily life on the 19th.

According to the county on the 22nd, the "Energy Saving Practice Challenge in Daily Life" is a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting energy saving practices in everyday life. It involves minimizing standby power using electronic timer outlets and prioritizing the purchase of energy-efficient grade 1 products to reduce power consumption and carbon emissions. The challenge started on September 7th with Chungnam Province Governor Yang Seung-jo and has continued since then.

Kim San, governor of Muan County, who was nominated by Kim Hyung-soo, chairman of the Guri City Council, actively promoted cutting standby power and saving energy by posting a photo holding a placard that read "Carbon Neutrality Practiced Together, Cool and Warm Water Dispenser OFF, Environment ON" on the county's SNS.

Governor Kim said, "I am glad to participate in the challenge amid nationwide efforts to practice carbon neutrality," adding, "As the importance of carbon neutrality to respond to the global climate crisis is increasing worldwide, Muan County will also strive to reduce greenhouse gas emissions."

Meanwhile, after participating in this challenge, Governor Kim nominated Oh Tae-wan of Uiryeong County, Lee Byung-hwan of Seongju County, and Kim Dae-hyun, chairman of the Muan County Council, as the next participants.
