Selected through design competition jury... Developed as a hub space for rest and healing tourism
[Jeonju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Han-ho] Jeonju City announced on the 22nd that it held a design competition judging committee for the creation of Wansan Chilbong Hanbitmaru Park and selected the work submitted by Pyeonghwa Engineering Co., Ltd. as the winning entry.
The work by Pyeonghwa Engineering Co., Ltd. reportedly received overall higher scores compared to competing entries from the judges in terms of creativity of concept, suitability of spatial planning such as usage efficiency, connectivity with nearby tourist resources, and various park activation strategies.
In particular, the plan was highly evaluated for creating a space that enhances the quality of life for citizens by preserving the locational uniqueness and historicity of Wansan Chilbong and Chorokbawi areas, while establishing landscape facilities utilizing surrounding tourist resources such as Hanok Village to generate synergy in the tourism industry.
Jeonju City plans to complete the detailed design service by May next year based on the originally conceived basic plan and the winning work, then proceed with construction sequentially from next year, aiming for completion in 2024.
A total project cost of 17.2 billion KRW will be invested in Wansan Chilbong Hanbitmaru Park, which will be developed over a site area of 61,100㎡ into four districts: △ Landmark District △ Healing Camp District △ Flower Gallery District △ Healing Road.
In particular, the Landmark District will include a bunker-type observatory, observation deck, and moon-viewing garden; the Healing Camp District will feature a healing center, rooftop garden, sky wind path, and wind bathing area.
Among these, the Healing Center, with a total floor area of 2,583㎡ across one basement floor and two above-ground floors, will provide spaces for healing and experience such as a green craft experience classroom, horticultural therapy room, and cafeteria.
Additionally, the Flower Gallery District will be developed with a herb garden, fragrance garden, and multicolored flower beds, while the Healing Road will be filled with deck roads organically connecting key spaces, shadow landscaping, and printed pavement paths.
