Korea Investment & Securities 'Overseas Stock Auto-Investment' Applications Reach 300,000 Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Junho Hwang] Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Financial Group, announced on the 22nd that the number of applications for the automatic investment service of the mobile overseas stock investment platform Ministock exceeded 300,000 within three months of its launch.
Korea Investment & Securities' Ministock is a service that allows trading overseas stocks in fractional shares starting from 1,000 KRW units. In September this year, an automatic investment service was introduced that automatically invests when users set their desired stocks, amounts, frequency, and investment period. To commemorate the launch, transaction fees are waived for automatic investment amounts up to 400,000 KRW per month until the end of this year.
The automatic investment service is especially useful for steady long-term investment with small amounts. Currently, 42% of the service applicants are in their 20s and 30s, and 48% chose the longest available investment period of one year. The most popular stocks were Tesla (10%), Apple (6%), and Alphabet A (5%).

Meanwhile, Ministock recently added a profit-sharing feature to enhance the fun of using the app. Targeting the MZ generation, who are active in self-expression and communication, the content allows users to share their investment returns on social networking service (SNS) channels using cute characters.
