The 11th Industrial Technology Protection Day Ceremony and 2021 Industrial Security Conference
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Joo Sang-don] Moon Seung-wook, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, stated on the 19th, "We will expand support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which have weaker security capabilities compared to large corporations."
On this day, Minister Moon attended the 11th Industrial Technology Protection Day ceremony and the 2021 Industrial Security Conference, and in his commemorative speech said, "Technology leakage threatens not only the national economy but also national security. Proactive protection as well as fostering advanced technology is key to industrial competitiveness."
Minister Moon added, "We will also strengthen measures against technology leakage through personnel and plan to announce the '4th Comprehensive Plan for the Prevention and Protection of Industrial Technology Leakage' by the end of this year," urging, "Please actively participate and practice these measures on site."
The Industrial Technology Protection Day ceremony is an event to commend the efforts of industrial security personnel and enhance their status, held annually together with the Industrial Security Conference for sharing industrial security experiences and discussing response strategies.
The conference was held under the theme "Industrial Security Strategy in the Era of Economic Security." Sessions included presentations and panel discussions on topics such as security know-how when establishing overseas joint ventures, training security personnel to protect national core technologies, and strengthening the industrial security ecosystem for mutual growth among companies, followed by Q&A.
