Surpassing 800,000 Members and 1 Million Cumulative Downloads
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] The cumulative transaction volume of ‘Securities Plus Unlisted,’ Dunamu’s domestic unlisted stock trading platform, which operates Upbit, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in Korea, is on the verge of reaching 200,000 transactions. The enthusiasm for unlisted stock investment among individual investors appears to be intensifying.
On the 19th, Dunamu announced that the cumulative number of transactions on Securities Plus Unlisted is approaching 200,000, about five months after surpassing 100,000 transactions on June 10. The number of users has also rapidly increased, exceeding 800,000 members two years after its launch in November 2019. Cumulative downloads also surpassed 1 million in August.
The main drivers of the unlisted stock investment boom were people in their 20s and 30s. Over the past year, from October last year to last month, the 20-30 age group accounted for 43.78% of users. Reflecting the MZ generation’s (Millennials + Generation Z) preference for small investments, the number of small transactions under 500,000 KRW increased by about 300% from March to May, and small transactions under 100,000 KRW also rose by about 89% from March to June.
Dunamu emphasized that Securities Plus Unlisted has led the unlisted stock trading market with various convenience features and stability. They explained that ▲ the industry’s first linkage with securities firms’ safe trading services ▲ 24-hour reservation order function ▲ consolidated stock information provision were effective. Additionally, large-scale initial public offerings (IPOs) such as HYBE, SK IE Technology, and SK Bioscience have continued, bringing attention to unlisted stock investment.
