On the 18th, Dong-Eui University defeated Chosun University 4-0 in the semifinals of the 2021 University Soccer U-League King of Kings Tournament to advance to the final.
The final opponent is Jeonju University, which advanced as the 2nd place team in Region 7 and defeated Andong Science University, the Region 9 champion, 2-1 in the semifinals to reach the final.
The final match will be held on the 20th at 11 a.m. at the Gyeongbuk Yeongdeok County Sports Complex and will be broadcast live on Naver Sports.
In the semifinals, Dong-Eui University took the lead with consecutive goals by Kim Dae-han in the 31st and 35th minutes of the first half, followed by an additional goal by Kim Ki-chan in the 6th minute of the second half and a clinching goal by Jeong Jin-gyu in the 38th minute of the second half to finish the game.
Dong-Eui University allowed only one goal in four King of Kings matches, including a 3-0 win over Halla University in the round of 32, a 1-0 win over Incheon University in the round of 16, and a 3-1 victory against Gimcheon University in the quarterfinals.
Jang Cheol-min, head coach of the Dong-Eui University soccer team, said, "The players' morale is high and their desire to win is strong. We will do our best to definitely win the championship."
The 2021 University Soccer U-League is a league where 85 universities nationwide compete in regional leagues, and the top 32 teams compete in the King of Kings tournament to determine the final champion.
