[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The absentee rate for the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) was recorded at 10.8%.
On the 18th, the Ministry of Education announced that the number of test-takers for the first session of the CSAT was 452,222, which is 89.2% of the total applicants (507,129).
The absentee rate for the first session was 10.8%, a decrease of 2.4 percentage points compared to the previous year (13.2%). The number of absentees was 54,907, about 10,000 fewer than the previous year (64,648).
By region, Chungnam had the highest absentee rate at 15.4%, followed by Incheon (13.1%), Gyeonggi (12.1%), Chungbuk (12.0%), Jeonbuk (11.9%), Gangwon (11.7%), Sejong (11.5%), and Gyeongbuk (10.9%).

Among the students who took the CSAT on this day, 96 students who tested positive took the exam at hospitals or residential treatment centers, and 128 students in self-quarantine took the exam at separate testing sites. The number of students who took the exam at general testing sites was 451,998.
