Kakao Pay Obtains International Biometric Authentication Standard 'FIDO2' Certification
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Kakao Pay announced on the 18th that it has obtained the 'FIDO2' certification of 'FIDO,' the international standard for biometric authentication.
FIDO is an authentication standard specification designed to solve the problems of traditional password authentication methods in online environments and replace them with faster and more secure methods. It is mainly used for biometric authentication through face, fingerprint, voice, etc., and global IT companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Apple are leading the development of these standards.
Kakao Pay began FIDO-related development in October last year and completed FIDO registration this October after passing compatibility and certification tests.
