Introduction to Bespoke Appliances and Smart Home Solutions Based on SmartThings
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics announced on the 18th that it will showcase a smart home with enhanced connectivity based on 'Bespoke' appliances and 'SmartThings' at the '2021 International IoT (Internet of Things)·Home Appliances·Robot Expo' held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju Metropolitan City until the 20th.
Samsung Electronics plans to organize exhibition zones themed around key SmartThings services such as cooking, clothing care, and pet care, demonstrating consumer-tailored experiences pursued by each service.
At the SmartThings Cooking Zone, visitors can experience features such as the 'View Inside' function, which allows users to check ingredients stored inside the 'Bespoke Family Hub' refrigerator via mobile, and the 'Scan Cook' function of the 'Bespoke Cooker,' which sets the optimal cooking temperature and time by scanning the barcode on meal kits or convenience foods.
The SmartThings Clothing Care Zone exhibits the latest Bespoke clothing care appliances, including the 'Grande AI' washer and dryer, 'AirDresser,' and 'ShoeDresser.' Here, AI features are introduced, such as 'AI Customized Washing,' which automatically sets washing and rinsing times by detecting the weight, type, and dirtiness of laundry; 'AI Customized Drying,' where precise sensors inside the device detect temperature and humidity to find the optimal drying temperature and time; and 'AI Habit Memory' and 'AI Customized Recommendation,' which suggest courses based on usage patterns, weather, and seasons.
At the SmartThings Pet Care Zone, visitors can experience services that capture and show the daily life of pets through the 'Bespoke Jet Bot AI' robot vacuum cleaner and care for pets' emotions by playing music or videos. Additionally, a demonstration is held where the 'Bespoke Cube Air' pet care air purifier is remotely operated to effectively remove pet hair and odors.
Other features include the 'Prism 360 Color' zone, where visitors can combine 360 colors on the Bespoke refrigerator according to their preferences and personality; a photo zone offering prizes when photos are uploaded to social media with hashtags; and the 'Team Samsung Zone,' where various SmartThings app services can be directly experienced on a large screen.
