Vietnam's COVID-19 Resurgence... New Cases Reach 10,000s
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] The resurgence of COVID-19 cases is intensifying in Vietnam.
According to Vietnamese health authorities on the 17th, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 10,250 the previous day.
This is the first time since September 26 (10,011 cases) that daily confirmed cases have exceeded 10,000. It increased by 1,647 compared to two days ago.
By region, Ho Chi Minh City reported 1,183 cases, with Binh Duong (1,048 cases) and Tay Ninh (683 cases) also adding a significant number of confirmed cases.
The capital, Hanoi, reported 158 cases.
So far, out of the total population of 96 million, 36 million people in Vietnam have completed their vaccinations.
