Kim Kyung-hyun, Muan County Council Member, Honored with 'People Who Brightened Korea Award'

Evaluation of Community Service Activities Ingrained in Volunteers, Including Early Morning Cleaning

[Muan＝Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Kim Kyung-hyun, Chairman of the Operations Planning Committee of the Muan County Council in Jeollanam-do, received the Social Service Merit Award at the ‘2021 People Who Brightened Korea Awards’ hosted by the Korea Newspaper Journalists Association and others.

According to the county council on the 17th, Councilor Kim Kyung-hyun has continuously practiced early morning cleaning volunteer work from his time as a social organization leader to his current legislative activities in the Muan County Council, serving as a role model to those around him.

In the social service category, the award was highly evaluated for “active legislative activities such as enacting ordinances for socially vulnerable groups and continuous social contribution activities including early morning cleaning volunteer work.”

Councilor Kim Kyung-hyun said, “I have always continued my legislative activities while thinking about what I can contribute to the local community,” and added, “In the era of With Corona, I will continue to devote myself to legislative activities and policy development that support neighbors in need.”

The ‘2021 People Who Brightened Korea Awards’ is an award hosted by the Korea Newspaper Journalists Association and the Federation of Journalists, given to individuals who have made contributions to regional and national development with a strong sense of mission in fields such as politics, society, culture, arts, and science.
