Tomorrow is the Day of the Patriotic Martyrs... First Commemoration Ceremony at the Independence Hall
[Asia Economy Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist Reporter]The '82nd Memorial Ceremony for the Patriots Who Sacrificed Their Lives to Restore National Sovereignty during the Japanese Colonial Period' will be held.
On the 16th, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs announced that the Memorial Ceremony for Patriots' Day will be held at 10 a.m. on the 17th at the Independence Hall of Korea in Cheonan.
This ceremony will be held for the first time at the Great Yard of the Nation at the Independence Hall. The event will be held under the theme "Let's Sing Another Star."
The ceremony will begin with a tribute, followed by a solo performance of the "Old National Anthem" by a children's musical actor, and musical actor Yoon Hyung-ryul will sing the "Korean March," composed in 1939 by anti-Japanese musician Han Hyung-seok.
A related video highlighting the poplar tree (also known as the "Weeping Poplar"), which was planted when the Seodaemun Prison execution ground was built in 1923 and witnessed the last moments of the patriots, will also be screened.
In addition, a young writer will recite "Light Received as a Gift," a newly written memorial text based on the "Memorial Text for Patriots" written by Jeong In-bo in 1945, and the "Song of the Patriots" will be sung.

The government plans to award 134 honorees selected on the occasion of Patriots' Day, representing six bereaved families including the late Hong Yong-hwan, the second son of General Hong Beom-do, during this ceremony.
