Seven Eleven established the Seven Hero Prize last year to discover and reward cases that became social role models through various sharing activities. The Seven Hero awards are held twice a year, in the first and second half, by receiving stories from Seven Eleven family members, including store owners, mates, and partners, who have practiced various good deeds around us.
For this 3rd Seven Hero, a total of about 50 stories were submitted. Among the submitted stories, three heroes were selected as Seven Heroes through blind evaluations by internal judges and online voting by employees. The grand prize went to Jung Youngja (62), the store owner of Suwon Yeonghwa Branch, who has been volunteering at a local welfare facility for 22 years. Jung has been carrying out many volunteer activities for neighbors in the community facing difficulties, such as North Korean defectors and elderly living alone.
The excellence award was given to Kim Jinho (45), the store owner of Incheon Yeongheung Oeri Branch, who has contributed to community safety by serving as a local autonomous crime prevention officer for over 10 years. The special award was given to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association, which protects the lives and safety of citizens on-site during various disasters such as COVID-19 and floods.
