"No Cold Wave for This Year's CSAT" Temperatures Expected to Be Higher Than Average
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] On the 18th, when the 2022 College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) is held, Gwangju and Jeonnam are expected to have higher temperatures than usual, so there is no prospect of a 'CSAT cold wave.'
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 15th, on the day of the CSAT this year, it is expected to be mostly clear and warm due to the influence of a mobile high-pressure system approaching from the west during the day.
On the preliminary gathering days for the CSAT, from the 16th to the 17th, it will be mostly clear and mild due to the influence of a high-pressure system carrying warm and dry air approaching from central China.
On the day of the CSAT, the 18th, clear weather is expected to continue under the influence of the high-pressure system.
During this period, the morning low temperatures in the Gwangju and Jeonnam areas will remain above freezing, and the daytime high temperatures are expected to be around 17 degrees Celsius, more than 2 degrees higher than the average, according to the Meteorological Administration.
However, due to the clear weather caused by the high-pressure system, the temperature difference between morning and afternoon will be more than 10 degrees Celsius in most areas of Gwangju and Jeonnam, and there is a high possibility of fog forming mainly in inland areas, so special caution is required for the movement of examinees.
A Gwangju Meteorological Administration official said, "To prevent examinees from experiencing poor condition such as colds and respiratory diseases caused by the large temperature difference, it is necessary to wear warm clothing and thoroughly prepare in advance."
