20s Crew Member Injured in Eye During Work at Jeju Port Urgently Transported
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] On the afternoon of the 14th, a crew member who was injured above the left eye while operating a seedling transplanter on a domestic passenger ship departing from Jeju Port was urgently transported due to severe bleeding.
According to the Jeju Coast Guard on the 15th, at 2:12 PM the previous day, a report was received from domestic passenger ship A, which was departing Jeju Port, stating that crew member B (male/20s/Korean) was injured in the eye while working and requested rescue.
Accordingly, the Jeju Coast Guard urgently dispatched the coastal rescue boat from Jeju Police Substation and arrived at passenger ship A, which was waiting at the outer anchorage of Jeju Port, at around 2:22 PM.
While operating the seedling transplanter installed on the deck during departure from Jeju Port, glasses broke and crew member B, who was bleeding from an injury above the left eye, was confirmed as an emergency patient and boarded the coastal rescue boat at around 2:28 PM.
At approximately 2:35 PM, they arrived at Jeju Port and safely handed over the patient to a 119 ambulance waiting nearby.
Meanwhile, this year, the Jeju Coast Guard has safely transported a total of 41 emergency patients using patrol vessels and other means.
