[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gangwon Yeongwol-gun has launched a signature campaign among residents to maintain the metropolitan council electoral district.
According to Yeongwol-gun on the 15th, in the 8th nationwide simultaneous local elections scheduled for June next year, the metropolitan council electoral district of Yeongwol-gun will be reduced from the current two to one, applying the population criteria set by the Constitutional Court.
Accordingly, the county plans to collect residents' signatures for the 'maintenance of the metropolitan council electoral district' by the 26th and deliver them to the relevant departments.
