Westin Chosun Seoul 'Sushijo' Opens Private Room-Only Sushi Omakase for One Group
Opening of a Separate Private Room-Style Sushi Omakase in Addition to the Existing Omakase (10 Seats)
Exclusive Customized Service for One Group with a Designated Chef at 'Hinoki Sushi Dai'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Westin Chosun Seoul's 'Sushijo' announced on the 15th that it will open a private room-style sushi omakase exclusively for one group of individual small customers starting from the 6th of next month.
Sushijo stated that in line with the phased recovery of daily life (With Corona) era, it will upgrade the private space and premium service of the hotel restaurant to offer a private room-style sushi omakase service exclusively for one group.
Sushi omakase, derived from the Japanese word "omakase," meaning "to entrust," has recently become popular even among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). The hotel explained, "In the case of Sushijo, despite accepting reservations every 1st of the month for three-month periods, nearly 90% of the omakase seats for three months are booked on the day reservations open," adding, "All omakase seats are fully booked within a week."
After about 40 days of renovation, Sushijo added a private room-style sushi omakase to the existing 10 or so omakase seats out of the total 97 seats. The private room-style sushi omakase features a sushi omakase counter and space exclusively for one group within a separate area of approximately 20㎡.
It will offer an omakase menu twice a day (lunch and dinner) for one group of up to five people. Based on the existing Sushijo omakase menu, customers can additionally enjoy a variety of luxurious seasonal dishes. Customers can also designate their preferred Sushijo chef when making a reservation to experience a highly satisfying service.
Sushijo has continuously recorded sales growth despite the COVID-19 situation. From January to November 2021, it showed a 10% growth rate compared to the same period the previous year.
The operating hours for the private room-style sushi omakase are from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM for lunch and from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM for dinner.
