Changgyeonggung Management Office to Hold 'Visiting Palace Dancheong Painting' on the 18th
The Cultural Heritage Administration’s Palace and Royal Tombs Division and the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation announced on the 15th that they will carry out the 'Gung-on Project.' It is a palace utilization program to enjoy at home. Videos and kits related to Changdeokgung Moonlight Tour, Gyeongbokgung Starlight Night Tour, and Jongmyo Myohyeonrye will be delivered. The Moonlight Tour is introduced through virtual reality (VR) videos guided by actor Kim Yoo-jung. The Starlight Night Tour includes videos highlighting the northern area of Gyeongbokgung and a royal court confectionery kit. Myohyeonrye refers to the ritual performed by the queen or crown princess at Jongmyo Shrine. This project offers a unique experience through VR videos and experience kits. Meanwhile, the Changgyeonggung Management Office will hold a 'Visiting Palace Dancheong Painting' event for children in Jongno-gu on the 18th. It is an experiential event where participants paint patterns directly using dancheong pigments. Kim Do-rae, director of the Bukchon Buddhist Art Preservation Research Institute, will also share interesting stories related to palace dancheong.
