[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The first virtual summit between U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be held on the evening of the 15th (local time).
The White House announced on the 12th, through a press release by spokesperson Jen Psaki, that the two presidents will meet via video conference.
The White House explained, "Following the phone call on September 9, they will discuss ways to responsibly manage competition between the U.S. and China, as well as ways to cooperate where our interests overlap."
It added, "President Biden will clearly state the United States' intentions and priorities, and will also frankly and clearly convey our concerns regarding China."
