Former Lawmaker Min Kyung-wook Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Holding Illegal Assembly
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Former Future United Party lawmaker Min Kyung-wook, accused of leading illegal assemblies, has been sent to the prosecution.
According to the police on the 12th, the Seocho Police Station in Seoul sent former lawmaker Min, who is accused of violating the Assembly and Demonstration Act and the Infectious Disease Control and Prevention Act, to the prosecution without detention at the end of last month.
Min, who is also the representative of the April 15th Election Fraud National Struggle Headquarters (Guktubon), is accused of holding illegal assemblies every week for over a year around Gangnam Station and the Seocho District area. The group held protests demanding a fact-finding investigation, claiming that the results of the 21st general election were manipulated in favor of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea.
