[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] As COVID-19 vaccinations continue steadily in South Korea, the completion rate reached 77.6% on the 12th.
According to the COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, as of midnight on this day, a total of 39,845,393 people have completed their vaccinations by receiving all recommended doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The vaccination completion rate compared to the population of South Korea (51,349,116 as of last December) is 77.6%, and 90.0% compared to the population aged 18 and over.
The authorities expect the completion rate to reach 80% around mid-next month. The number of people who completed vaccination the previous day was 107,068.
The cumulative number of completed vaccinations by vaccine type is 21,251,034 for Pfizer, 11,009,717 for AstraZeneca (including 1,762,265 cross-vaccinations), 6,092,273 for Moderna, and 1,492,369 for Janssen.

First-dose vaccinations also continue, with 63,175 people newly vaccinated the previous day. The cumulative number of first-dose recipients is 41,823,166, which is about 81.4% of the population, and 92.8% when based on the population aged 18 and over.
