[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Chaehyunil, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo-gu, attended the final report meeting for the publication of the Yeongdeungpo District Chronicle held at the annex of the district office on the afternoon of the 10th.
The meeting was organized to review the final version of the Yeongdeungpo District Chronicle, which compiles over 30 years of Yeongdeungpo's history. Following a progress report by a representative from the Seoul City University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation in charge of the research, broad opinions from the district chronicle advisory committee on content composition and publication direction were heard, and future plans were discussed.
Mayor Cha said, "Through the publication of the district chronicle capturing the vivid footsteps of Yeongdeungpo, we can enhance the pride of the residents and the status of Seoul's three major downtown areas," adding, "Based on the valuable insights and wisdom of the committee members, I will do my best to compile a highly complete district chronicle."
Yoo Dong-gyun, Mayor of Mapo-gu, participated in a 'Special Disinfection Activity to Prevent the Spread of COVID-19' at 7 a.m. on the 10th.
The disinfection activity was organized by the Saemaeul Leaders Mapo-gu Council (Chairman Kim Jong-deok). About 15 people, including Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun and Park Jeong-hwan, Chairman of the Saemaeul Movement Mapo-gu Branch, participated and conducted disinfection around Mangwon Market and World Cup Market areas.
No Hyun-song, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, attended the 'Final Report Meeting for the Full Revamp of Gangseo-gu Website' held in the district office's large conference room on the afternoon of the 10th.
The meeting included reports and demonstrations on major website revamp contents such as ▲design and menu structure improvements reflecting the latest web trends ▲establishment of an integrated reservation service, along with Q&A sessions.
Mayor No said, "With the spread of non-face-to-face culture due to COVID-19, we have undertaken a full revamp of the district website to expand various online services," adding, "I hope the revamped website will become a communication channel that residents can use more conveniently."
The district plans to review, supplement, and reflect the opinions raised during the meeting and start operating the new website from mid-December.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, Seoul, attended the 'Nowon-gu Disabled Employment Harmony Festival' held at Deungnamu Cultural Park (Junggye 2,3-dong) at 1 p.m. on the 10th.
This event was organized to expand economic independence opportunities for people with disabilities, a representative vulnerable group in employment.
Twenty-seven companies participated, operating an employment zone where one-on-one interviews between employers and job seekers took place, as well as an experience zone offering various activities such as VR interviews and aptitude tests using fingerprints, and an auxiliary event zone including demonstrations of massage for the visually impaired and free health checks.
In addition, related organizations and groups for people with disabilities participated to promote mutual harmony and friendship and provide various necessary information to participants.
The event proceeded with a pre-performance, guest speeches, ribbon-cutting, commemorative photo session, and expo tour, attended by Mayor Oh Seung-rok, Choi Yoon-nam, Chairperson of Nowon-gu Council, and Woo Won-shik, Member of the National Assembly.
Mayor Oh said, "I hope this event provides opportunities for independence to people with disabilities and serves as a chance to improve awareness of disabled employment and expand employment," adding, "We will continue to strive to support various policies so that Nowon-gu can develop into a disability-friendly city."
Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, participated in the 2021 Kimchi Making with Global Families event at Hannam-dong Community Center on the 9th.
This was part of the 2021 Love Kimchi Sharing campaign.
Twenty-five foreign and multicultural families from nine countries attended the kimchi-making event. Participants learned how to make kimchi and then mixed the kimchi.
At Hannam-dong Community Center, 50 boxes of 8kg salted cabbage and seasoning were prepared in advance. Participants by country of origin were ▲China (11) ▲Japan (6) ▲USA (2) ▲Russia (1) ▲Mexico (1) ▲Taiwan (1) ▲Vietnam (1) ▲Cambodia (1) ▲Malaysia (1).
This year's Love Kimchi Sharing purchased finished products, omitting the mixing process due to the COVID-19 situation. Volunteers of 20 to 35 people per neighborhood were recruited to deliver kimchi from the 9th to the 11th. The total volume is 18,000 boxes of 8kg each, totaling 86 tons.
Mayor Seong said, "Although small-scale, I was glad to be able to mix kimchi together with global families," adding, "I hope the participants enjoy the kimchi they made together and have a warm winter."
Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, took a commemorative photo with executives and related personnel of the National Public Daycare Center Association who donated 10 million won from the proceeds of the National Public Daycare Center Bazaar at the Yangcheon-gu Office Open Participation Room at 5 p.m. on the 9th.

The 10 million won donated that day was the proceeds from the Happy Sharing Bazaar, in which 87 public daycare centers in Yangcheon-gu participated. The National Public Daycare Center Association donated the amount through the Yangcheon Love Welfare Foundation to help neighbors in need.
