Prosecutor Son appeared at the HOCI building in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, around 9:55 a.m. as a suspect and was investigated before leaving at approximately 6:15 p.m. This was his second investigation since the first one on the 2nd.
HOCI is expected to summon Prosecutor Son again for further questioning soon. Son's lawyer stated that he left HOCI without reviewing the investigation records. The lawyer said, "Due to the length of the investigation, he was unable to review the records," adding, "He will sincerely cooperate with any additional investigations designated by HOCI."
Additionally, Son's legal team reportedly had a meeting with Deputy Chief Prosecutor Yeo Woon-guk, the lead prosecutor of the HOCI investigation team, on the same day. However, no detailed information about the meeting has been disclosed. It is known that only the lawyers attended the meeting.
Prosecutor Son is accused of abusing his authority and obstructing the exercise of rights by instructing subordinate prosecutors, while serving as the Investigation Information Policy Officer at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office in April last year, to draft complaints and collect supporting materials against ruling party figures, and sending these to Kim Woong, a member of the People Power Party, thereby bribing the opposition party to file accusations.

Meanwhile, Son's legal team filed a complaint with the National Human Rights Commission on the 8th against Deputy Chief Prosecutor Yeo and three others, alleging that HOCI violated human rights during the process of requesting an arrest warrant and summoning for investigation.
