[Asia Economy Reporter Dongwoo Lee] Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 10th that it will hold the '2021 Incheon Airport Sky Festival' over two days on the 20th and 21st around Incheon Airport. Since its first event in 2004, the Sky Festival has established itself as a complex cultural festival attracting about 30,000 domestic and international visitors, featuring performances such as K-POP and crossover concerts, events, and exhibitions.
This year's Sky Festival will be held in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines according to the government's phased daily recovery plan. The festival will include programs such as a K-POP concert featuring leading domestic musicians and the Sky Expo involving social enterprises, and will be conducted through a combination of drive-in broadcasts and non-face-to-face online live streaming.
On the 20th, a K-POP concert titled 'Fly again with Incheon Airport' will be held, featuring stars such as Rain, Monsta X, Park Jung-hyun, Oh My Girl, and Zion.T. The concert will be broadcast live for free on three channels: Incheon Airport's official YouTube, Wonder K YouTube, and Naver TV.
At the Incheon Airport Lawn Plaza, a drive-in broadcast concert will also be held, allowing attendees to watch the live performance from their cars. Those wishing to attend the drive-in broadcast can apply on the Sky Festival official website by the 14th. A total of 200 vehicles will be selected by lottery on the 15th. Drive-in broadcast attendance is only available to those who have completed COVID-19 vaccination, and a welcome package to enjoy inside the car along with the performance will be provided to vehicles entering on the day of the concert.
From the 20th to the 21st, between 12 PM and 6 PM, free admission to the 'Sky Expo,' an aviation and airport industry-related exhibition, will be available at the Transportation Center of Incheon Airport Terminal 1. The exhibition consists of various programs including the Aviation Industry Together Value Expo showcasing the latest trends in the aviation industry such as the metaverse, the travel-related special exhibition 'Shall We Travel?', a travel-themed flea market featuring local small business owners, and a special UAM (Urban Air Mobility) exhibition displaying real models.
During the Sky Festival, Incheon International Airport Corporation will hold a prize drawing event for attendees of the K-POP concert and Sky Expo. For detailed information about the Sky Festival, please check the official Sky Festival website or contact the operation office.
