Lotte Construction Increases Recycling of Waste Materials After Construction

Lotte Construction announced on the 10th that it signed a 'Waste Disposal Surplus Material Recycling Business Agreement' with Tobos Co., Ltd. on the 9th at its headquarters in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, to enable the utilization of materials discarded from completed construction sites.
Tobos is a venture company that developed 'Ing-eo Market,' a platform for selling small quantities of construction materials. In May, it was selected as the 8th batch of L-Camp, an accelerating program operated by Lotte Ventures, and secured seed investment.
When ordering materials at construction sites, surplus quantities are ordered to prepare for shortages due to transportation, storage, or damage during construction. Most of the surplus materials that are no longer used are disposed of.
Among the small quantities of materials generated at this time, Tobos collects tiles, insulation materials, finishing materials, etc., that can be stored and reused, and resells them through Tobos's direct construction material trading platform, the Ing-eo Market app, or donates them free of charge to environmental improvement projects for vulnerable groups.
Through this, Lotte Construction can easily secure disposal costs and storage space for surplus waste materials, minimizing resource waste.
Tobos can sufficiently secure the necessary materials through business-to-business transactions, and consumers can create new value by reusing the purchased construction materials as needed.
The sales revenue generated will be shared between Lotte Construction and Tobos, and Lotte Construction plans to allocate it as a social contribution fund to help neighbors in need.
Lotte Construction plans to first operate two pilot sites to discuss waste reduction effects and improvements with Tobos, and then expand the implementation to all sites.
A Lotte Construction official said, "Through this agreement, we expect to promote resource circulation and reduce carbon emissions generated from waste," adding, "We will actively pursue ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management."
