'Yumi's Cells' Animation and Musical Production

Naver Webtoon announced on the 10th that 'Yumi's Cells' will be produced as a theatrical animation and a musical. The former will be co-produced by its subsidiary Studio N and Locus, which made the 3D animated film 'Red Shoes.' It is scheduled to be released in the first half of 2023. The latter will be planned and developed jointly by Studio N and musical production company Sam Company. Kwon Mi-kyung, CEO of Studio N, said, "We will contribute to revitalizing the webtoon IP industry by producing content in various fields based on Naver Webtoon's intellectual property (IP)." Written and illustrated by writer Lee Dong-gun, 'Yumi's Cells' is a work that depicts the daily life and romantic stories of Yumi, a woman in her 30s, from the perspective of the cells in her brain. It gained popularity with a cumulative 3.4 billion views on Naver Webtoon. Recently, a live-action and 3D animation hybrid original drama of the same name was also aired on TVING.
