Fujifilm Hosts 'GFX Challenge Grant Program 2021'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Fujifilm announced on the 10th that it will launch the ‘GFX Challenge Grant Program 2021’ to discover and support talented emerging photographers from around the world.
This global project is designed to support creative image and video storytelling works by photographers and videographers worldwide based on the Fujifilm GFX system, and to promote their ability to contribute to the artistic community.
The ‘GFX Challenge Grant Program 2021’ will be held over approximately 10 months from this month until the end of August next year, divided into six judging regions including the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Through the first document screening, 4 to 10 people per judging region, totaling 50, will be selected, and then 15 will be chosen through a second online interview by comprehensively reviewing originality, GFX utilization, and project feasibility. Korea is grouped in the same judging region as Japan, with 6 selected in the first round and 2 in the second round.
Among the 15 finalists, 5 global winners will receive a prize of $10,000 each, and the remaining 10 regional winners will receive $5,000 each. In addition to the prize money, during the approximately 5-month project period, one GFX body and two lenses will be lent free of charge. The project results will be published on the global Fujifilm website by September 30 next year.
Applications for the program are open from today until January 5 next year, and anyone aged 18 or older residing in Korea can apply. Detailed information and the full schedule can be found on the official Fujifilm Korea website.
