At Least 20 Dead in Gold Mine Collapse in Niger, Africa
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] At least 20 people died when a gold mine collapsed in southern Niger, Africa, dpa news agency reported on the 8th (local time).
The accident occurred the day before near the Kondago village in the Maradi region. This is the second accident in the past three months, following a landslide that killed 8 people.
Authorities said that by the morning of the day, 20 bodies had been recovered, and the death toll is expected to rise as rescue operations continue.
