Damyang Student Council Federation, Ecological Environment Education Through Squid Game
Implementation of Ecological Environment Education Through Traditional Games
[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang Office of Education School Support Center announced on the 8th that 54 students from the Damyang Student Council held an activity to experience the importance of ecological conservation under the theme "Let's Play with Ecology" on the 6th.
The experience consisted of an ecological true-or-false game and traditional games using recycled materials in the morning, and in the afternoon, promotional activities for "Saving the Beautiful Earth" and making eco-friendly products.
Ecological environmental education through traditional games was promoted based on the fact that play equipment was made using materials easily found nearby and that after playing, discarding them did not harm the environment.
The ecological environment preservation campaign conducted by Damyang Student Council members using placards made from paper boxes or scrap paper with phrases such as "Let's wash recyclables clean before throwing them away!" and "The Earth wants to breathe too!" helped raise awareness of the global environment among tourists visiting Damyang.
During the campaign, a warm scene occurred when a tourist visiting Damyang said, "The students are doing a great job to protect the Earth," and bought snacks for them.
Kim Jian, the elementary president of the Damyang Student Council who experienced ecological environmental education through play and activities, said, "It was so fun to make and play with ttakji, a traditional Korean card game, which my parents used to play when they were young. I want to try what I learned today again with my friends at school."
