Over 120 Eco-friendly Green Products Available... Payback Benefits for Purchasing Customers
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Homeplus announced on the 5th that it will participate in the '2021 Korea Eco-friendly Expo, Carbon Neutral Green Festival' hosted by the Ministry of Environment and the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute. Homeplus has opened a dedicated green product section called 'Online Green Store' on its online mall and will hold a green product sales promotion until the 15th.
During the event period, Homeplus will run a '10% Mileage Payback for Good Consumption' promotion, giving customers who purchase eco-friendly green products certified with the Environmental Label (Eco Mark) or Low Carbon Product Certification at the 'Online Green Store' on the online mall a 10% payback of the purchase amount in mileage.
Following large discount stores and corporate supermarkets (SSM), Homeplus became the first domestic large discount store to acquire the Ministry of Environment's 'Green Store Certification' for its online mall in September. It currently sells over 120 green products certified with the Environmental Label on its online mall.
Until the 15th, customers who apply for 'Participate in Payback' on the event page of the online mall and purchase and complete delivery of green products from over 120 items across various categories?from beverages to animal welfare eggs and chicken, toilet paper, kitchen detergents, car washer fluid, to household paint?will receive 10% of the green product purchase amount (up to 10,000 KRW) credited as mileage.
Customers who purchase any of the four 'Green Consumer Recommended Products' recommended by Homeplus until the 15th will receive 1,000 mileage points per product purchased (up to 4,000 points) as payback. The Green Consumer Recommended Products include ▲Good Toilet Paper ▲CJ CheilJedang Baeksul Cooking Oil ▲Eco-friendly Lion Chamgreen Pure Fermented Plant Kitchen Detergent Refill ▲Bullsone Ethanol Green Washer, totaling four products.
Meanwhile, Homeplus established an 'ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) Committee' in August and selected carbon neutrality and community contribution as key ESG focus tasks for the next five years to ensure a sustainable future. When delivering customer order products, refrigerated and frozen delivery vehicles are used to minimize unnecessary packaging. Even when packaging is used, 100% eco-friendly materials such as biodegradable bags and water ice packs are employed.

Homeplus is minimizing plastic use by developing private brand (PB) products such as 'Homeplus Signature Label-free Water' that remove labels. For environmental protection, mobile receipts are used instead of paper order slips. Additionally, moisture-absorbing pads used in some fresh food products have been replaced with eco-friendly pads free of microplastics.
