Dongyeol Lee, CEO of KoreaTech, "Kahi (KAHI) Sale Rumors Are Groundless"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Lee Dong-yeol, CEO of Korea Tech, stated that "the rumors about the sale of the cosmetics brand KAHI are unfounded."
In a phone interview with Asia Economy on the 3rd, CEO Lee said, "Since the launch of the KAHI brand, we have never held even a single meeting with parties in the investment banking (IB) industry," adding, "Although there is a lot of interest in the market, the matter of selling has never been considered even once."
He emphasized, "Rather than activities to increase current value, we are investing more internal resources into mid- to long-term projects," and "To globalize KAHI, we are preparing various projects such as new product development and establishing eco-friendly processes."
Additionally, he said, "Besides KAHI, the company is placing its vision on the launch of eco-friendly products such as masks."
Meanwhile, according to the investment banking (IB) industry, Korea Tech is understood to be in discussions with potential buyers to sell its stake in the cosmetics brand KAHI. The IB industry estimates the value of the KAHI brand to be around 250 billion to 300 billion KRW.
