Lexus Korea Launches Upcycling Craftwork 'New ES Edition'
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Lexus Korea announced on the 3rd that it has launched the ‘NEW ES Edition,’ an upcycling craftwork created in collaboration with three Lexus Creative Masters, to commemorate the release of the New ES model.
The NEW ES Edition is an upcycling craft product carried out with the concept of 'Nature In Design,' aiming for the virtuous cycle of resources by utilizing automotive-related waste such as trunk felt and leftover air caps from service centers, as well as materials discarded after craftwork.
To create new value, a total of three artists, Lexus Creative Masters Kim Jiseon, Park Jeonggeun, and Lee Dongju, participated together.
Artist Kim Jiseon presented two types of ‘Eco-Poly Series Trays’ using discarded air cap materials and barcode stickers. Artist Park Jeonggeun reborn discarded copper and enamel glaze into a ‘Chilbo Holder’ and ‘Chilbo Coaster.’
Artist Lee Dongju used discarded vehicle trunk felt materials and brass fittings to produce ‘Incense Holder’ and ‘Tray’ works that provide a unique texture and luxurious feel.
