According to Woongjin ThinkBig, the metaverse service is a virtual school world built on the artificial intelligence (AI) learning platform ‘SmartAll.’ Users create a 3D avatar like themselves, attend school, check attendance, and proceed with learning. They can also chat with friends and freely explore the classrooms.
In the metaverse service, users can find interesting books or play word chain games with AI. If they have questions, they can open the encyclopedia inside the classroom to look up unfamiliar concepts.
Woongjin ThinkBig carried out the metaverse service revamp through an expert committee composed of professors from domestic universities such as Seoul National University, KAIST, Sungkyunkwan University, and Konkuk University.
The advisory professors advised, “The metaverse should become a world where children can recover their social skills, which have significantly declined due to the impact of COVID-19, and engage in self-directed learning through immersion.”
The metaverse project team incorporated the professors’ opinions to create a learning environment in the virtual classroom where friends can interact and communicate. They also linked various learning services to enable users to immerse themselves and study independently in the virtual world called SmartAll.
In April, Woongjin ThinkBig became the first in the industry to introduce the metaverse by producing augmented reality (AR) avatars and providing chatbot services capable of English conversation. They plan to continuously add metaverse services that allow users to create their own spaces, invite friends, and use content that can be shared with teachers or parents before and after learning.
