Wemade Q3 Operating Profit 17.4 Billion KRW... Return to Profitability
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Wemade announced on the 3rd that it recorded sales of 63.3 billion KRW and an operating profit of 17.4 billion KRW in the third quarter. Sales increased by 167% compared to the previous year, and operating profit turned positive.
The hit new title 'Mir4' drove the strong performance. Mir4, released globally in over 170 countries last August, surpassed 1 million concurrent users. Mir4 incorporates blockchain-based Non-Fungible Token (NFT) technology.
Wemade plans to absorb and merge Wemade Tree, which was responsible for blockchain services, and focus the company's full capabilities on the metaverse business linking games and blockchain.
Following Mir4, Wemade will officially launch the new mobile game MirM next year. Additionally, affiliated companies Longtu Korea and NT Games are preparing to release 'Yeolhyeol Gangho' and 'Galaxy Tornado,' while Wemade Plus is preparing to launch several blockchain games such as casual games 'Aqua Tornado' and 'Fishing Tornado' in the first quarter of next year. Wemade aims to release 100 blockchain games by the end of next year.
