Police Arrest 40-Year-Old Mother for Unprovoked Assault on 7-Year-Old Son on Broad Daylight Road

On the 1st, the Gwangju Police Department's Special Investigation Team for Child Abuse announced that they had booked a woman in her 40s, identified as Ms. A, without detention on charges of violating the Child Welfare Act (child abuse).
Ms. A is accused of hitting her 7-year-old son multiple times on a road in Yangsan-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, around 1:40 p.m. on the 28th of last month. The assault lasted about one minute on a street where pedestrians and cars were passing by. Many citizens who witnessed the assault, including kicking the young child, intervened to stop Ms. A and reported the incident to the police.
