Hamyang-gun Receives Institutional Commendation for Successful Execution of Large-Scale Statistical Survey
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 1st that it received the Minister of Strategy and Finance’s Institutional Commendation in recognition of its contribution to the accurate and successful execution of a large-scale statistical survey conducted by Statistics Korea.
As for individual awards, a total of nine people were honored, including five recipients of the Minister of Strategy and Finance’s Commendation and four recipients of the Statistics Korea Commissioner’s Commendation, reflecting the meaningful achievements accomplished together by statistical officials and survey personnel.
The evaluated statistical surveys include three large-scale nationwide surveys conducted every five years: the Population and Housing Census and the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Census conducted in 2020, and this year’s Economic Census.
In this commendation, the county was recognized for its considerable efforts such as selecting outstanding survey personnel to improve survey accuracy, providing high-quality training, maintaining a permanent statistical situation room, and minimizing non-response from businesses through systematic and proactive publicity.
Additionally, County Governor Seo Chun-su personally demonstrated the online survey to encourage citizen participation, and actively led participation through township and town tour education sessions and resident publicity via village chief meetings.

A county official stated, “The successful completion of the large-scale statistical surveys conducted every five years was the result of the active cooperation of the residents and the efforts of the survey personnel,” and added, “We would like to once again express our gratitude to all the residents, institutions, and organizations who cooperated.”
