Huchunggon, Hwasun County Governor, "Seeking Measures for Residents' Livelihood Stability and Local Economic Recovery"

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Gu Chung-gon, the governor of Hwasun County, Jeollanam-do, stated on the 1st, “Please devise and implement measures to improve vaccination rates, stabilize residents' lives, and recover the local economy for the restoration of daily life,” and added, “Maintain a prompt testing and response system in case of confirmed cases.”

Governor Gu made this request to public officials during the regular November assembly held in the county office's large conference room that day.

Following the phased daily recovery quarantine guidelines that began on the same day, the county held an in-person regular assembly for the first time in a year.

Governor Gu said, “Since there is a risk of another large-scale outbreak due to relaxed vigilance during the daily recovery process, please manage so that voluntary and responsible compliance with quarantine rules such as wearing masks is maintained,” and added, “Until complete daily recovery is achieved, let us hold onto hope and unite our efforts for the lives and health of the residents.”

He continued, “I also order the prevention of autumn forest fires, the implementation of comprehensive winter measures, and preparation for administrative audits. Regarding the establishment of next year’s work plans, please prepare for the 8th elected term and actively discover and promote government policies and new Hwasun development projects.”

The county has organized and operates the “COVID-19 Daily Recovery Promotion Team” to promote and support phased daily recovery.

Governor Gu Chung-gon leads the team, which operates five divisions: the Autonomous Safety Division, Quarantine Medical Division, Economic and Livelihood Division, Social and Cultural Division, and Operations Support Division. They plan to manage quarantine as well as promote support projects in various fields.

As of the 30th of last month, out of the county’s total population of 62,522, 51,070 people have completed the second vaccination (vaccination rate 80.2%). The second vaccination rate among residents aged 12 and over was recorded at 86.5%.

Governor Gu Chung-gon said, “We will actively discover and promote support for low-income vulnerable groups, recovery of small business damages, expansion of sales channels for agricultural, livestock, and fishery products, and daily recovery support tasks to ensure the phased daily recovery proceeds without setbacks,” and added, “Until complete daily recovery, we will do our best to comply with daily quarantine guidelines, manage quarantine, stabilize livelihoods, and recover the economy.”
