Operation of Communication, Culture, Welfare, Education, and Capacity Building Programs
[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] The 'Cheongnyeon Maru,' a communication space for young people in Muju, opened its doors on the 1st.
According to Muju County, Cheongnyeon Maru is a communication space aimed at revitalizing the local youth network. It began operations following its selection in April for the Youth Communication Space Cheongnyeon Maru creation project contest hosted by Jeollabuk-do.
Muju County invested a total project cost of 150 million KRW (including 50 million KRW for program operation expenses) to operate the facility and the program titled 'Muju Youth, Communicating with Muju.'
'Muju Youth, Communicating with Muju' is conducted under five themes: Communication (inviting speakers, SNS activities, running a press corps), Culture (holding cultural performance events), Welfare (supporting club activities), Education (supporting career experience), and Capacity Building (debates, policy discovery). It is expected to contribute to improving the quality of life for Muju's youth.
Cheongnyeon Maru is operated under the supervision of the Muju County Youth Policy Council.
Meanwhile, about 40 people, including County Governor Hwang In-hong, Muju County Council Chairman Park Chan-joo, Provincial Assemblyman Hwang Ui-tak, and members of the Youth Policy Council (Chairman Park Yong-su), attended the opening ceremony.
Governor Hwang In-hong said, "Youth are the driving force supporting a society," adding, "I hope this place becomes an opportunity to believe in and support the power of youth, that this space becomes a power plant where our youth communicate, unite, and demonstrate their capabilities, and a foundation for building a Muju true to its identity."
Meanwhile, as of the end of December last year, the youth population aged 18 to 49 in Muju County was 6,756 (a decrease of 1,214 compared to 2016). Currently, youth groups and organizations such as the Muju County Youth Policy Council, 4-H, and youth associations continue their activities.
