[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] The Damyang Office of Education Wee Center announced on the 1st that it held a parent education session with 20 parents from the district and advisors on the 28th of last month.
This parent education was conducted mainly for parents classified as an interest group based on the student emotional and behavioral characteristic test results and parents interested in understanding their children's psychological and emotional development. The purpose was to enhance understanding of the developmental process and problem behaviors of children and adolescents to support their healthy and safe growth and development.
Through lectures and Q&A sessions by Director Park Jinhyung (psychiatrist at Samho Medical Foundation), who has been serving as an advisor to the Damyang Wee Center since last year, parents were helped to understand ADHD symptoms frequently seen in growing children, treatment effects, and types of disabilities.
A parent who participated in the education said, "Whenever I saw my child's problem behavior, I often blamed myself, thinking I was raising them wrong, but hearing the explanation from a medical perspective seemed to be very helpful."
