[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Former Jeju Governor and People Power Party presidential candidate Won Hee-ryong raised the level of criticism against rival candidate Hong Joon-pyo, saying, "It seems he has no intention of becoming president." He also cautioned former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, saying he may be vulnerable to attacks from the ruling party due to "lack of experience."
On the 1st, on KBS Radio's 'Choi Kyung-young's Strongest Current Affairs,' Won criticized Hong, saying, "If you want to become president, you should come prepared with some pledges," and added, "But when he was asked questions about the pledges he announced, he called a fellow party candidate 'sneaky and disgusting' and said he would never see him again."
In response, Hong fired back during a TV debate the previous day to Won's question, "Do you find a fellow party candidate disgusting?" saying, "No, the question itself is disgusting. The question is intended to embarrass the opponent, and that intention itself is disgusting."
Won said, "Also, seeing him get cocky because the polls are good and telling people to come under him like subordinates, it seems this person is not seriously thinking about becoming president, not concerned about winning people over to his side, or expanding his circle," adding, "He has regressed even more than four years ago."
Regarding former Prosecutor General Yoon, Won pointed out, "There is risk in the process of the main election," and said, "Since attacks from the ruling party are expected, the risks have already accumulated, so even his supporters cannot completely dispel their anxiety about these risks."
About Yoon’s involvement in the Daejang-dong scandal, Won said, "I don’t know the detailed situation," but added, "At the very least, if the dispute continues, there will be a problem where he cannot take the initiative in offensives that dig into the problems of the opposing Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung."

He then emphasized his own competitiveness as an 'Lee Jae-myung sniper.' He said, "Until now, there was a preconceived notion that I was somewhat smart but a model student," and added, "Now, no one is digging into the 'Lee Jae-myung Daejang-dong scandal,' but I directly delved into it and pushed this candidate almost into a 'groggy state,' giving the public the impression that 'Ah, there is a knockout punch.'"
