Naver Shares Interim Results of Industry-Academic Cooperation with Vietnamese University..."Collaboration on AI Research Talent Development"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] Naver announced on the 1st that it held the 'PTIT X NAVER AI NOW, ACADEMIC & CAREER Conference' sharing industry-academic cooperation projects with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), a Vietnamese IT research institute and university.
Previously, following Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Naver welcomed PTIT as a partner in its global artificial intelligence (AI) research belt in August last year, establishing its second technology research base in Vietnam. The two institutions are conducting various industry-academic programs including global training, local special lectures, internships, and scholarships, in addition to industry-academic projects.
At the conference held on the 30th, they shared interim results of ongoing industry-academic projects such as ▲indoor image region segmentation ▲object image region segmentation data construction ▲deep learning-based video compression technology ▲deep learning video streaming technology ▲large-scale Vietnamese speech data construction.
The ongoing industry-academic projects will continue research and development until next year, and the possibility of applying them to Naver's global services will be reviewed. Additionally, long-term cooperation to discover and nurture local research personnel will be further expanded.
