The ‘Online On-site Mayor’s Office’ was planned to maintain the communication link with residents despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation and to find solutions for regional development together on-site.
Under the theme of ‘Umunhyeondap (Our district’s problems, answered on-site)’, the online on-site mayor’s office started in Sinjeong 7-dong and was conducted in real-time through a Zoom video conference from a studio set up at the Yangcheon Digital Media Center, communicating with residents. A resident representative from Sinjeong 7-dong, conveying the voices of the community, joined the studio.
In particular, at this on-site mayor’s office, a ‘Anyway On-site’ vlog video, filmed in advance by Mayor Kim Su-young during visits to key sites in Sinjeong 7-dong, was shared, receiving great responses from residents.
Mayor Kim visited the construction site of Galsan Arts and Culture Center, scheduled to open in February next year, Galsan Park, the elevator installation site at Ogeum pedestrian overpass, and locations where requests for installation of security CCTVs were raised, capturing vivid scenes on-site with a single-person camera.
Residents watched the pre-recorded vlog video together via Zoom, showing great expectations for the improved local appearance and development plans. After watching the video, a real-time communication session followed, during which Mayor Kim listened carefully to various questions and advice from residents and responded personally.
Mr. Kim, a resident of Sinjeong 7-dong who participated in the online on-site mayor’s office via Zoom, said, “The elevator at Ogeum pedestrian overpass was a long-standing wish of local residents, and I am truly grateful that the district office actively secured city budget to install it.” He added, “It is reassuring to have Yangcheon-gu that does not miss even the small voices of residents,” expressing his gratitude warmly.
Mayor Kim Su-young emphasized again, “Now, standing at the starting point of preparing for the transition to the new normal with With-Corona, Yangcheon-gu will, as always, visit the ‘site’ to find solutions together with residents.” He added, “We will continue to actively reflect the vivid voices from the field in district administration and use them as a cornerstone for the future development of Yangcheon.”
