Gochang-gun Selected as 'Best Institution' in Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Evaluation

[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeonbuk Gochang-gun (Governor Yu Gi-sang) announced on the 29th that it has been selected as the Best Institution for four consecutive years (3rd nationwide, 1st in the province) in the 2021 National Agricultural Technology Center Agricultural Machinery Rental Business Evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

In this evaluation, the county received high praise from the judging panel in three areas: rental business performance, participation in government policy projects, and staff work capabilities.

In particular, it achieved the result of securing 200 million KRW in national funds related to the agricultural machinery rental business for next year through the award project funds.

Currently, the county's agricultural machinery rental offices consist of three locations, possessing a total of 61 types and 750 units, and as of the 20th, 5,769 agricultural machines have been rented.

The delivery service was provided free of charge for 1,256 units, an increase of 40% compared to the previous year.

Also, to help with the shortage of rural labor in farms struggling due to COVID-19, the agricultural machinery rental fee is being reduced by 50% until December.

The northern region agricultural machinery rental offices (Heungdeok-myeon, Seongnae-myeon, Sillim-myeon, Buan-myeon) are also scheduled to be completed by December.

Once the northern region offices are completed, a ‘Comprehensive Agricultural Machinery Rental Service Center’ will be established, allowing convenient use of agricultural machinery within 15 minutes from anywhere in the east, west, south, or north of the county.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center said, “By continuously expanding agricultural machinery rental and delivery services, we expect to alleviate labor shortages during the farming season and help reduce farm management costs,” adding, “We will continue to make our best efforts to provide better services.”
