ICK "A&B Korea Collaborates with Hana Card... Launches Selfie Solution"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] ICK announced on the 28th that its affiliate A&B Korea has signed a partnership agreement with KEB Hana Card (Hana Card). Through this, they will launch Cellfie’s soft POS merchant payment approval solution at merchants in Korea.
Cellfie, in collaboration with Hana Card, can turn any Android smartphone into a POS device. This enables merchants to approve Visa or Mastercard payments contactlessly without additional hardware. As a result, customers can make payments using credit or debit cards on the merchant’s smartphone.
Cellfie allows sellers to approve contactless payments using NFC-enabled credit or debit cards or mobile wallets such as Samsung Pay. Transactions with Cellfie are protected using security and encryption technologies like global EMV chip cards. It uses the same switching process as conventional POS transactions.
Julian Lee, CEO of Cellfie, said, “We are very pleased to launch Cellfie in the Korean market in partnership with Hana Card. Korea is one of the most competitive and tech-savvy markets in the world, and we are delighted to provide software for the most innovative payment solutions in the market.”
Cellfie’s soft POS has the advantage of easy upgrades. No additional personnel or equipment replacement is required during upgrades.
It is also emphasized that it can be used in various environments. A company official stated, “Turning smartphones into payment terminals allows small and medium-sized enterprises to quickly and securely accept electronic payments. Since it can expand digital acceptance networks in new services or locations without POS infrastructure, it benefits businesses of all sizes, from small to large merchants.”
