"K-Content Interest Should Expand to Our Cultural Heritage"
A video promoting the excellence of Hanok will be screened for one month on a large electronic billboard at the CentralWorld department store in Bangkok, Thailand. This 30-second advertisement was planned as part of the 'Cultural Heritage Visit Campaign' by the Cultural Heritage Administration, the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, and Professor Seokyeong Deok from Sungshin Women's University. Models of various nationalities appear to showcase the superiority of Hanok. It highlights unique features exclusive to Hanok, such as the open structure called 'Daecheongmaru,' the 'Sarangchae' that connects with nature through windows on all sides, and the functionality of roof tiles and ondol (underfloor heating). Choi Youngchang, chairman of the Korea Cultural Heritage Foundation, said, "Now that interest in K-content has grown, it is the perfect time to widely promote the beauty and value of our cultural heritage," adding, "In preparation for the post-COVID era, we will expand interest in Korean content to our cultural heritage and encourage tourists to visit cultural heritage sites."
