Lee Eun-young, former Executive Director of McDonald's Korea, who attended as a first-generation mentor at the inaugural forum in 2012, also did not miss the '2021 Asia Women Leaders Forum' held on its 10th anniversary. She is one of the veterans who has served as a forum mentor seven times over the past decade.
Lee, a renowned HR expert currently working as a freelancer and coach, attended the forum held on the 27th at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul, and emphasized the significance of the forum by saying, "It is incredible that a platform for women's networking has continued for 10 years. Having participated since the first event, I know well that it is not easy." She cited the biggest change from the first forum in 2012 to the 10th anniversary as "a shift from simply discussing women's issues to embracing diverse topics and areas."
The Asia Women Leaders Forum has established itself as a definitive networking platform for women representing South Korea over the past decade. Yoon Mi-ok, CEO of GIENS, who has participated as a mentor for seven years from the second forum in 2013 to this year, described it as "a forum that enables networking not only among leaders but also between mentors and mentees." Yoon said the strength of the Asia Women Leaders Forum lies in "the rewarding experience of meeting mentees from various fields as a senior who has taken a step ahead, empathizing with their difficulties and concerns, and offering advice."
