First in Seoul Districts: 24-Hour Access to Unmanned Civil Service Issuance Machines in 22 Community Service Centers, Free Issuance of 117 Types of Civil Documents
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) completed the establishment of '365-day Open Unmanned Civil Service Centers (hereinafter Open Civil Service Centers)' in all 22 community service centers on the 26th, the first in Seoul.
The Open Civil Service Center is a space that allows 24-hour use of unmanned civil service issuance machines installed in community service centers. Without an ID card, residents can receive 117 types of civil documents, such as resident registration certificates and land registers, for free by fingerprint verification only.
The Open Civil Service Center is equipped with functions to ensure administrative accessibility for the disabled, including voice guidance and keypads for the visually impaired, Braille labels, and earphone sockets, and ramps have been installed in some locations to improve accessibility.
Im Dong-ho, head of the Resident Autonomy Division, said, "Gangnam-gu in the 7th local government term is converting all areas of administration to non-face-to-face methods in preparation for the 'With Corona' era," adding, "We will create a 'Sympathetic Administrative City Gangnam' where residents are happy through 'Open Administration' tailored to the residents' perspective."
